anyone who says “just internet friends” is a fucking douche okay

my internet friends have wiped my tears dozens more times than my “real life friends”

and I’m sort of getting teary over a powerful truth

i can’t confide in my rl friends as much. Partly because sometimes we’re too different in principles and partly because I’m better at expressing myself in writing. There was also a time I barely had any rl friends at all and certainly didn’t see them regularly, and was basically kept afloat by knowing I could write to people who cared about me. You guys are just invaluable.

I value both my RL and internet friends. But yes, I go into a horrible rage-filled frenzy when anyone says ‘internet friends aren’t real friends.’

to be honest I really don’t even like the term “internet friends” or when people go “oh are you friends irl?” like are you saying this isn’t real life right now? My friends are my friends, regardless of where I have met them.
